Safeguarding in Surf Life Saving GB (SLSGB)
In Surf Life Saving GB (SLSGB), safeguarding means protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults from abuse, harm, or neglect in all surf life saving activities. It ensures that everyone involved feels safe, respected, and supported—whether at the beach, during training, or in competitions.
What Safeguarding Includes:
- Creating a safe and inclusive environment for all members
- Protecting from all forms of abuse, including physical, emotional, sexual, and online harm
- Clear codes of conduct for members, coaches, volunteers, and parents
- Training for all volunteers and coaches, especially those working with children
- Clear reporting procedures for any concerns or incidents
- Confidential and appropriate response to safeguarding concerns
